and speaking of the new year, i need a new mattress... stat! the one i have now is like sleeping on a lumpy, fat guy, and can probably date back to one (if not both) of the World Wars. it's torn up and beaten-down to the point of no return. plus, the box spring has this mysterious dark red (blood?) splatter all over the middle of it. any previous dead-hooker-mattress-owners i should know about? great. better start saving up now, mattresses these days apparently aren't cheap! ($2,000 for a hunk of springs and foam?!)

this is definitely tardy, sorry about the delay! that's the downside of working in retail during the holiday season, you never have a moment to yourself!
for thanksgiving this year, my family couldn't make it down to see me, nor could i go home to see them. boo hoo! but like last year, my good friend madison invited me over to her place, where her mom (the caterer!) made us an amazing dinner! (again!)
possibly some evidence that we ate too much, haha!

(please, tell me that you do!?)

today, roomie Janel and i went birthday-gift traipsing about the mall for roomie Natasha. it was incredibly nice out, too. (82 degrees!!) i almost ended up buying myself more stuff than for her gift! well, actually i did. i bought three new movies at Suncoast,(wtf?!) and just picked her up a giftcard at Nordstrom's. hey, that's a good gift, right?! now she can get whatever her little heart desires.
it wasn't all my fault i bought three movies, they were having this ridiculous sale where a ton of awesome classics were $4.99! but if you bought one, the second was only $2.50! so i got Weekend at Bernie's and Spaceballs. AND THEN Friday the 13th was on sale for $4.99 with any purchase, so i just had to get that one too. but hey, $13 for 3 good movies... don't you thing that's a good deal? i do!
oh yeah, and apparently it was "Meghan's" birthday today. Sorority sister? yeah, we seem to think so.

Okay, first off i'd just like to say 9 MORE DAYS TIL HALLOWEEN! And to all the Bay Area-ites: i went to Berkeley for the first time the other day... DON'T CUT ME! i've lived here for how long, and i JUST went? yeah, exactly. it was so fun! of course, we hit up the famous Telegraph avenue and went on a vintage spree! it was full of fabulous thrift goodies and a spectacular hat shop. (where i would have blown all my accounts to bits in if i would have let myself!)
and to end the night, we all headed over to Maddie's house for some of her mom's famous-LA-caterer tortilla soup and margaritas!

Happy day-before-Friday, day! it's been absolutely beautiful weather this past week here in the city, which made my out and abouting alot nicer! especially since i had to go to the SF MTA office in SoMa to try and appeal my $50 Muni ticket. (bleh!) my trip down there was relatively pointless; the people there were RUDE, and with my professional, diplomatic and hopefully empathetic alibi all prepared, i was told to simply fill out my appeal form and drop it in the mailbox...that's it. THAT'S IT?! that information could have been more useful when i called and asked how to appeal, instead of racing down after work before they closed JUST to mail something that i could have done at HOME! (*huff*!)
i suppose it's fine, the sunny, warm autumn day has completely masked any inconveniences i may have experienced. plus, i got kinda lost looking for the station and stumbled upon a fabulous neighborhood i hadn't seen yet! tall, intricate fences with golden fixtures, and old-world style cement buildings. quite nice.
oh yeah, and i saw these reeeaally pretty, sparkley shoes that i really wanted, but wasn't about to shell out &70 for em. =/
