Here i am, reappearing after 100 years! =D Can you believe Halloween is only 24 days away? WHAT?! i'm still deciding what to be! who has their costume/idea's already?! I can't decide between a 50's burlesque showgirl type deal, with CRAZY pink ostrich plume feathers and sequins!, Catwoman, (ala Tim Burton, of course!), or 50's Barbie. i know, i know.... I was Barbie last year. but the makeup/wig didn't do it justice! so, we'll see.
speaking Halloween, AMAZING news! how awesome does this look? Haper's Bazaar has collaborated one of the most fabulous shoots i've seen in a while, with one of the most badass creative directors; a high-fashion Halloween special in honor of Tim Burton's upcoming exhibit at the NY MoMA. how cute, he even cameos in some of the photos. =]

LOTS of random stuff has been going on this season. SUPER Surprise visits home for mom's birthday, Drunk boardgame Clue nights, shopping with fun co-workers, getting my EARS PIERCED FOR THE FIRST TIME!! yes, believe it. 22 years later, finally! OH and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs concert pics! unfortunately, the seats BLEW at the Fox Theater. that had to be the MOST uptight venue for a concert i've ever been to. ushers at every isle, making sure you were in the right seat. we were so far away Karen O looked like a gnat. =/ but we still had a blast! those will come soon enough, though.
Lovefest was this weekend. aaand once again for the 4th consecutive year of living in the city, i have missed it. i had to work again, but to be honest i decided not to go on my own terms. the crowds were horrendous and overstuffed to the gills with underage intoxication, barely-there extravagant clothing (which i'm not totally opposed to!), and obnoxious gusts of insane winds that even the news warned us about. i had a much nicer night staying inside with warm pj's, Coraline and soup. =]

August Assault is over, September Surrender is here. Surrender to the summer vacations ending, autumn beginning soon, colds and sickness, (i say this since i've succumbed to the WORST flu/cough/cold EVER! 101 fever, stuffy head... grosss.) so i've been off since Tuesday! too bad i couldn't have been better to enjoy the "mini vacation". uuughh just get me through work tomorrow and i'll be good! =/

I'll be seeing the Yeah Yeah Yeah's this Wednesday in Oakland after work for the first time. SWEEET! Karen O is known for her outrageous costumes, crazy makeup, and INSANE on-stage behavior and dancing. AWESOME! i know, i know, August was kind of the month for shows, but apparently it's not over. im SO excited and im hoping i'll be feeling better by then so i can have a blast. =D
here's their new video "Heads Will Roll", and i'm warning you... it's a kind of awesome?? it sort of reminds me of Broadway meets Werewolf in London. =D

not-so-good news; the LOVE of my life, the delicious piece of man-candy that is Cedric Bixler-Zavala (lead singer to The Mars Volta, At the Drive-In) .... IS MARRIED?! since just two months ago?? oh, say it isn't so PLEASE!! yes, but it's true. i think if i had heard the news when i wasn't on my death-bed, i'd have taken it a little less severely. =D
we're going to take a moment to enjoy his beauty... and move on. or not... ! i'll still drool, no one can stop me! haha
it doesn't help any that i CANNOT stop listening to this song by The Mars Volta. it's so haunting and beautiful. the video is kinda crazy and creepy... but God still love these guys! =D
also, cheesy ass horror movies from the 70's! Giant Spider Invasion, wow... you definitely don't test the laws of quality film making, do you? but hey, there's something about being sick in bed and corny movies that just go so well together. =]

so that's my quick update, lovelies. any fun plans for the three day weekend?! who's in remorse of school/work starting on Tuesday?
It's officially the last day of August. summer should be ending in a couple weeks already? am i mistaken?! (damn!) how has everyone's summer been?! this month has been a little nuts! hiring new associate process all over again at work, concerts galore, birthdays and partying for just no damn reason! it's also been AMAZING FABULOUS weather here in the city the past couple days. and i think my massive sunburn can vouch for that...
lets start off with our roommate trip to Rock the Bells earlier this month! it was hot, it was crowded, and filled with beer and fun! it was also round one of the Sunburn from hell! you should see this new one i have... it might take the cake.
and lei met Sage Francis!
it was an all-day event, so we were pretty worn out by the end of the night. too bad i had work the next morning, all tired and sunburnt! =/
and then there was Friday night... the Knockout in the mission has this amazing 60's soul night once a month, so my good old friend Daniah and the adorable John Paul HAD to make our way out to see it. the music was INCREDIBLE! some of the BEST mo-town and 60's songs you've ever heard. not to mention everyone was having a blast on the dance floor. not one person was caught without doing the twist, mashed potatoes, and even THE JERK! too bad i didn't get any videos, but i got tons of fun pics! we also made a quick stop for a few songs at Beauty Bar. (fun fun FUN! awesome music there, too!)

now onto... OUTSIDE LANDS!! okay, so i remember mentioning the concert line up this month, Coheed being included. unfortunately i couldn't get tickets in time (or someone to go with!), so that had to be put on the back burner. boo! but there was NO WAY in hell i was going to miss Outside Lands this year. in case you're unfamiliar, it's a 3 day festival jam-packed with some of the best, well-known, and up-and-coming artists around. there were five stages, and the event comes with an itinerary and map so you can easily find your way around. it was HUGE, and hot! i just bought one ticket for Saturday's lineup, and let me tell you, i almost didn't go due to last minute bail-outs and poor timing. but, i'm SO glad i just sucked it up and went by myself.

The Mars Volta was there, Mastodon, and a ton of other amazing artists... i'm SO glad i didn't miss it! unfortunately i got NO pictures of myself at the show, but at this point i don't even care. the experience was well worth it!

This month is so jam-packed and oozing out the sides with such awesome goodness that i can barely contain myself! roommate birthdays, out-of-town brunches, late-night Sunday bar nights after work and drunk Jenga. (which i lost every round, and had to take the loser shots. lose/win/win situation? =D) oh, and a dramatic hair chance, once again. =D not to mention all the concerts closely approaching. (oh god, only some of my most FAVORITE BANDS EVER!)
i'm actually still in the process of getting some people together for this Monday the 10th, since Coheed and Cambria is going to be here in San Francisco at the Warfield for their Heaven and Hell tour. yes, it's true. i said it. i'm trying to keep myself from TOTALLY FREAKING OUT! not to mention The Mars Volta being here at the end of the month on the 29th for the Outside Lands festival, gah! which is also the day of my other roommate's birthday, shit! there's so much happening, i'm still trying to collaborate with her brother on what to do for her! PLUS we're all going to Rock the Bells at the Shoreline on Sunday. oh, man. i hope i get used to not sleeping, and losing my voice. cause this month ROCKS!
i'm also trying not to suck complete ass at updating you all, i still have Memorial Day weekend, LA, randoms and wedding location hunting photos to upload! soon, my friends. soon. for now you can invade my Flickr account for newness in the time being. =D
oh, and is anyone else in SF confused by this weather?! yesterday felt like it was hitting upper 70's, this morning was nasty and freezing, now it's sunny?! i'm baffled. but i can't sit around and psycho-analyze the weather, there are errands to be had!
oh yes, and im trying my best not to wear as much pink. but... sometimes it just happens!

once again, it's been about that two-month mark where i get SO insanely busy, forget to post, then feel guilty! how has everyone been? can you believe it's literally about a week until summer starts? WHERE DID THE TIME GO?!
sooo much has gone on in the past (100 years?!) since i've posted. Tahoe trip, Zombie Bay-To-Breakers craziness, parties with the new roomies, (oh, man!), WORK, making new friends randomly (and keeping them!) at bars, and so much more...
i guess first up is our trip to Tahoe! my roommate Lei and her husband and i planned this trip to Tahoe about a few months ago in April. just a couple days to get away, see some snow and relax in the mountains. little did we know the snow was TOTALLY melted, the season had ended and was just about dying in the 85+ degree weather?! you mean we upgraded to the 4wd Highlander for THIS?! oh man, but nonetheless it was an awesome trip. ate far too much, drank too much, and got to basically have an entire hotel complex to ourselves! (not to mention the streets were EMPTY.) the cool part? we saw Atmosphere in concert! SO exciting. apparently it was a surprise stop in their tour, and was only about $25. deal in my book.
oh wait, i guess there was a little snow. =D

how has your summer been? any fun plans?
Happy monday! how was everybody's weekend? mine lasted about a century! =/ the past two weeks have been out-of-control. i don't remember if i've mentioned this or not, but my (only) associate of almost 2 years has managed to get herself fired by HR at work. AWESOME! so wait, clear this up for me... coming to work drunk, not coming to work at all, not coming in to work AND not calling out sick are all grounds for termination? no shit? DO TELL!
because of all this mess, i was working 7-day weeks, which is not-so-awesome. semi-good news is that i've been interviewing candidates for the new position, which is both a relief and a hassle. a pain-staking process that's left me irritated, and slightly apprehensive.
- the girl i wanted (who is AWESOME and upbeat! i've had the privilege of working with her already and knows she has great work ethic. PLUS she's trained in the line already! wtf?!); interview was sabotaged unprofessionally by my sales executive.
- the girl that i was somewhat okay with, but not thrilled about (she barely TALKS! who wants a super-shy makeup artist?!); got the job.
oh well, she's got adorable style and seems coachable. hopefully we can make a fabulous beauty artist out of her. =] plus i won't have to work every damn day hopefully soon, WOO HOO!
exactly 2 WEEKS until my birthday! i'm still trying to get all the bits and pieces together to plan for the shindigs, since we'll have to have more than one. i have to work on my actual birthday (lame!), and everyone else works/has class all week also. plus i work weekends! it's all a mess, but somehow it'll work out. and hopefully i can find a nice park that doesn't have anything happening so i can have my tea party!
i also got my birthday dress! (well, ANOTHER birthday dress!) this one is for if we go out the actual night of my birthday (St. Pattie's day, what uuup?!).

on kind of a random note: i was watching an episode of Bones, and this particular one was about child beauty pageants and them trying to solve a murder involving it. the whole thing made me so sad, and curious about the issue. so i'm searching and find this site. absolutely disgusting. the exploitation of children and their natural beauty is an absolute monstrosity. i don't understand how these people aren't ashamed of themselves. (sad, but moving on!)
and, with that being said, the ENTIRE movie of Plan 9 from Outer Space! (which happens to be my current desktop background.) ARE YOU SERIOUS?! thaaaank yooouu, Vanessa!
sweets, anyone? my friend Lei from work and I went on a sugar expedition... again! it could be stress, it could be that time of the month... either way i really don't think i need an excuse to get a giant-ass frosted brownie in the middle of the day. =D

Oh Betsey Johnson, why do you tease me so? it's come to that time where you really start counting down the days til your birthday. and this is when i start accumulating the ridiculous mental list of things that i want. MAKE IT STOP!

speaking of, she sold out of my favorite bag of hers! the pink doctor bag from her Dollskin collection. LAME! she's got this really cute leopard print one out right now, which is still pretty adorable. but not like the pale pink one! i found a picture of the black patent leather one with the hot pink trim, which is also mighty cute!
oh yes, and happy late mardi gras!
and i've decided, i'm having an Alice in Wonderland mad tea party for my birthday! it shall be held in a pretty park, and there will be mismatched tea sets, flamingo croquet, cookies that make you larger or smaller, and everyone will be in COSTUME! i've decided to be the white rabbit. =] now, we only need someone to be Alice!

oh boy, now i'm all excited. off to party-plan! =D
So the day has finally come... time to reveal the results of the "diabolical hair frenzy"! it's still not 100% complete (turquoise extensions to come next week!), but we got the majority done yesterday. i'm SO excited about the end result! it came out much more hot pink (and racy) than i expected, which is fabulous.

there are a ton more pink streaks underneath, i will almost positively post more pictures later to better show the colors off. all i can say is... FUN!! as silly as it may sound, but the new hair is actually helping me (mentally) prepare for the V-Day Invasion this saturday. (oh lord...) any of you have plans?! i was bad, and bought myself a box of See's candy today after work (because who else will?! =[ ). some of them were even pink! (they're kinda gross, though. they have coconut in em, blegh. i guess i should have read the label before letting all the cute, pink truffles get to my head?)
also, a random tid bit: my model friend Alex from high school in a Benefit web tutorial... COOOOOL!!! i came into work the other day, too and found this in my work binder. how absolutely mind-blowingly awesome would it be to come into work, and find your friend's face amongst paperwork? PRETTY damn awesome.
Friday the 13th is tomorrow, how many of you are superstitious? i'm going out to 80's night in the city, woo hoo!
here she is, Miss Neglecty Neglectington, once again apologizing for being absent for about a month it seems! so much happening, so little time to absorb it all. seven days exactly until Valentine's day, can you believe it?! does everybody have a date (or plans, at least)? =]
i most certainly do, and it's WORK! come on, it's probably just about the biggest excuse for girls to come in and get their makeup done! well, aside from prom, weddings, formals, etc... either way, i'll be doing *something* this year, at least. it's definitely better than staying home alone, like i'm sure i've done in the past. the past month has been craazy, especially just the past two weeks. i'm finding it more and more difficult to differentiate days from other days, and more days... it's all starting to blur together. going to work, coming home, sleeping, going to work, coming home, and so on is just getting OLD! that's why i've decided to start doing things that stand out in my mind, so i can feel like i'm actually doing something in life, aside from WORKING! some co-workers and i have plans mid-month to head out to a super swanky club, the Supper Club. adorable trannies, modern and clean decor, fun colorful lights, crazy-awesome food... who wouldn't want to go?! it's actually relatively new to San Francisco, that i know of. as far as i know it opened up in 2006? i was at the 2006 Macy's Passport fashion show in September of that year, and they were there, in their BEST drag, and fabulous samples of their salmon, promoting it like nobody's business! i've been dying to go ever since, so i can't wait to finally go in a couple weeks!
earlier in the week, my new co-worker friend Lei and i decided to go on an after-work lingerie shopping extravaganza! she was feeling the pressure of her boyfriend coming all the way down from Hawaii to see her for V-Day (aah!!), so off we went to the bourgeois-iest of lingerie boutiques in SF that we could think of... Agent Provocateur! everything's gorgeous, silky, lacy, and scrumptious feeling. too bad it's all about $200+ for a pair of their racy panties! it was still fun to get to rifle through the frillies, though. =D
i was kinda bummed too, since the day we went, my friend that works there wasn't working at the time! but the girls there were still nice.
so on we went to Betsey Johnson. oh lord, don't even get me started. i KNEW, just knew it would be torture going in there, since we'd try stuff on, and then regret purchasing one of her amazingly adorable pieces for probably $395, or up! but alas, since we're obviously masochists, we went in anyway, and had a blast trying her foofy, poofy and cupcake-inspired dresses for a while! what sucks? i found the PERFECT dress! especially since my birthday's coming up next month mid-March, i wanted to snag it SO BAD! i call it Rocky and Bullwinkle's Natasha-meets-Betty Page. DAMMIT!
unfortunately they caught us trying to snap a super-quick photo, and was denied immediately, darn. but it was this exact dress i tried on, only in black. it looked awesome! *sigh*. maybe for my birthday, i'll be more willing to fork out the dough for it! we ended up closing down the place! so on we went...
... to more lingerie! this time, she found her perfect set for Valentine's day at Victoria's Secret. it was this really cute little apron-corset-bra... thing in baby pink and black lace. it was SO awesome! meanwhile, i tried on enough ruffley, frilly pink things to make a fairy princess cry, but didn't end up getting anything. poo =/ it was still fun though!
and most importantly, SUNDAES! i know, i know, it's not the best choice of food a week before Valentine's, but who cares! it had Oreo's in it, dagnabbit!
also, this is from today... i'm seeing a dessert trend here, do you?
also, before i pass out hard, remember my diabolical hair plans? well, they've been buffed, polished, and set in stone! the only problem is my stylist got super sick and canceled this week. booooo. so hopefully by this Wednesday i can finally show you what i've been waiting for! get excited, seriously. =D

tomorrow's my first day of [official] on-the-sales floor work, aaah! i'm so excited, but slightly nervous. i'm considering taking advantage of the post-Christmas/New Year sales, and getting some snazzy-ass shoes today. i feel it's necessary: new job = new shoes! =D (i know, like needed an excuse, right?) i saw these from Guess that pretty much knocked my panties off. they were on sale for only $59 (WHAT?!), but had NONE in my size! i wanted to cry.
i enjoy cotton candy.
