RE: Kid's toys these days are bizarre.

I'm assuming the mass amount of kid's toy commercials and advertisements online are in good timing, as since it is less than a month away til Christmas! yesterday i posted about how i thought children's toys today were slightly strange, but a recent report online from the Consumer Product Safety Commission lists over 60, (sixty!) children's toys that were recalled for their potential harmful and hazardous nature.
WHAT?!
since all of the injury/incident inducing hub-bub, toy's safety-testing has supposedly increased because of the recalls of 2007. so, i think this goes without saying: if you've purchased any of these toys (want fancy pictures? click here for images of 2008's recalled toys), return them immediately! if it's anything like the attack of the hair-eating Cabbage Patch dolls of '96, i'm sure any reputable toy store/company would sympathize with your concern for your child's safety.
Not all hope is lost, though! a list of the Top 12 Best Toys. stick with these for your youngsters, and hopefully we won't hear on the news about your child's unfortunate tale of toy-time woe.
(i don't know about you guys, but I TOTALLY want this toy sushi set!)

Legos - choking hazard nowadays!
Pogs - pogs!! well, i guess maybe just the slammers could cause more harm than round, paper cut-outs.
Polly Pocket - before she went super-sized as you may have seen currently.
BB Guns - mind you, this was out far before the 90's, but seemed to make a come-back during that era.
paintball guns! - my brother and i had one, it's NOT FUN getting shot with one of these!
Skip-it's - did you ever trip and fall on yours? maybe it was just me being an uncoordinated klutz.
slap-bracelets - am i just being a wimp, or did these hurt?!
Gak - i wish this would make a comeback, but i bet some dumb kid ate it and choked on that, TOO!
Pokemon - cases in Japan sent a multitude of young children into epileptic seizures.
Poppers - not only are they small, but us menacing kids used to put them on unsuspecting sleeping faces, and waited for them to *POP*. it hurt, but it was hilarious!
i can't think of anymore! can you think of anything you played with as a kid that could be potentially harmful in today's society?
